THE CHALLENGE
Produce a short audio story (up to three minutes) inspired by (and named after) song titles from The Books’ newly-released record The Way Out, and including at least two of eight samples carefully selected from their vast library of musical bits, strange phrases, and sonic doodads.
I created this part fact, part fiction piece for the beloved Third Coast International Audio Festival's short docs competition for 2010. It was inspired by the Books' song title "Chain of Missing Links" and 5 of the audio samples available to use. Oh yes, and it was also inspired by my unbelievably dedicated and wonderful Grandmother, Therese Brandel.
